Feedback from Macmillan morning
Lunchtime discussion

Firstly congratulations everyone, we raised even more for Macmillan Cancer this year!

Many school councillors have been approached by children with issues over lunchtimes. The problems appear to be;
  • Overcrowding
  • Small tables
  • Noise/ smell
  • Mess
  • Bad manners
  • Rough play outside.
We discussed the problems at some length.
Action.
  • School Council could produce a new lunchtime charter for inside and outside and address the noise, mess, manners and rough play.
  • Representatives might approach SMT about overcrowding and small tables; possibly suggest separate sittings for KS1 and KS2, or some classes return to eating in their classes.
Lois thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 30th September we took part in The World's Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan cancer nurses. The event was a great success thanks to the enormous number and variety of delicious cakes supplied by members of our school community.

We had far too many cakes to eat at the coffee morning and so we plated them up and sold them at home time. This doubled the amount of money raised!

 We, as School Council, would like to thank everyone who helped with the event in any way. Your generosity will make such a difference to the lives of many.

And the cakes were wonderful too!    Thank you!
