Meeting 9.10.12

Minutes.
Everyone present.
School prayer
Agenda.
  • Lunchtime activities
  • Charities
  • playtime snacks.
Lunchtimes are still not as much fun as we would like. Most children agreed they did not want to sign up for activities but would prefer things going on that they could dip in and out of. As the weather is beginning to deteriorate lots of children would like inside activities such as quiet reading, drawing or computers. Maybe one dinner lady could be inside to supervise these activities?
The lunch play club has been very successful.
Also children would like a set time to know when they should be going to lunch and a bell or a signal so everyone knows.
School Council would like to support Children in Need and The shoebox appeal. We also wondered if we could donate some money to the hospital that is currently caring for Jack.
Playtime snacks. Several reps reported that healthy lunchtime snacks are slipping, especially in KS2. We decided that each classes school councillors would make a poster reminding children that playtime snacks should be fruit or vegetables only. Also if fruit was left over in KS1 it should be sent up to KS2 so that none is wasted.
AOB No matters arising.
Phoebe closed the meeting and thanked everyone for coming.

  1. Sounds like this was a productive meeting - well done!

We will have a look at lunchtimes and see what we can do. There isn't so much signing up at the moment anyway so that should make you happier.

I thought a whistle was to be blown for lunch alerts - maybe we need to remind the supervisors at lunchtime.

Great idea with the posters. Maybe Mrs Rees could bring this to the attention of teachers at staff-meeting and we can make sure we are all more aware of what's expected.

The charities sound great - we'll announce in assembly.

What a student voice you have!!
