Bishop Graham visits our school.

On 4th February we were honoured to be visited by Bishop Graham.

                                    School council  welcomed him to our school.

 

 We assisted by lighting the candle and leading the school prayer.

 His assembly was wonderful because he answered any questions we wanted to ask!

Then we took him on a tour of the school    

 We hope we didn't tire him out!

Spring term School Council

Hi Welcome to the new Spring Term School Council.

In our first meeting we discussed how we could improve behaviour at lunchtimes. We decided that our lunchtime charter needed to be made more colourful and easier to understand for younger children. We decided it would be a good idea if each class could take a right and illustrate the responsibilities that go with it so it could be easily seen and understood by everyone.

We presented our idea to the school in our assembly.

Our Issues in School Council

In school council we have identified some issues at playtime and home time. One of these problems is that small children are going on the adventure playground after school and this is not safe. If you have a small child that goes on the adventure playground please stop.

Another problem is that children aren't sharing dens. To prevent this happening please could you not take things and then put them in your den.

Our last problem is don't put equipment in the bushes and dens. This is because people are putting them in there and then it means other children can't play.

Apart from all this, we have a final statement, and that is: in your classroom you should have a sheet that you can write ideas on. If you do this we would be grateful because then we can take these ideas and put them into play.

Here We Are!!

Well, the school council asked for it and now they have it! Their own blog to share information and generate ideas.

Here is a picture of the new council (and you'll notice that we've managed to get them onto the school logo too).

We will update the blog with the meeting minutes after every meeting so that you can see what was discussed and what action is being taken. Don't forget, there is a poster in each classroom for you to record your ideas.
